Want To Attend Ram Temple Opening? Book Now!
If you're planning to be part of the consecration ceremony, securing a room now is crucial. As of next week, finding available hotel rooms in the temple city of Ayodhya will be a daunting task.
Scheduled for January 22, 2024, the consecration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra D Modi, has led to a surge in demand for accommodations. Online platforms are reporting a rapid depletion of room availability around the ceremony dates, prompting recommendations to reach out to hotels directly. Offline, hotels are capitalizing on the high demand, offering rooms at rates double or more compared to online prices. Standard double rooms, usually priced at around Rs 4,500, may skyrocket to Rs 20,000, depending on factors such as room type, proximity to the Ram temple, and provided amenities.
A cautionary note comes from a hotel owner who advises, "If you want to secure a room for the consecration, it's essential to make a reservation now. In just a week, there may not be any hotel rooms available in the temple city." Luxury accommodations in five-star hotels range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 55,000 for two people over two nights. Travelers flying to Ayodhya need to land in either Lucknow or Gorakhpur, followed by a three-hour road journey. Airfares to Ayodhya are rising, with return tickets for two from Chennai starting at Rs 30,000, and business class travelers paying triple that amount. This translates to an approximate expense of Rs 40,000 for travel and accommodation for two from Chennai, while a more affluent individual might spend around Rs 1.5 lakh for two tickets.
For Mumbai-Lucknow, economy return tickets cost about Rs 11,000, and business class tickets are priced at Rs 62,000 return for one person. Kolkata-Lucknow return airfare is Rs 11,000 per person, with business class tickets at Rs 83,000. Delhi offers the most affordable airfares, with a return economy class ticket at Rs 6,000 and a business class return fare at Rs 27,000. Although trains to Ayodhya are available, they are limited to those who have booked well in advance. Indian Railways is expected to introduce special services closer to the consecration date.
Udupi Pejawar mutt seer and trustee of Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra Trust Sri Vishwaprasanna Tirtha mentioned that devotees may visit the Sri Ram temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh a day after the consecration of Lord Sri Rama’s idol, starting from January 23."
